You need to be on a paid membership after the end of your trial period.
Make a transaction of at least $10 through the Bright app on any of the following features:
Make a payment to your credit card linked via Bright or wait for Bright to automatically do this for you!
Add money to your Bright Savings goal or wait for Bright to automatically do this for you!
Activate Bright Credit Builder - Sign up and submit at least a $10 deposit.
Use Bright Balance Transfer and get a loan disbursed and paid on your credit card.
Your friend should be on a paid membership after the end of their trial period.
They need to make a transaction of at least $10 through the Bright app. (See above.)
You should meet the above conditions yourself to be eligible for your rewards. Check your Award Eligibility in the app.
You can receive a maximum of 5 rewards per month (may be changed based on program monitoring). The month when your friend becomes eligible is the month that reward is attributed to you.
Make a payment to your credit card.
Go to “Accounts Tab” and click on any of your credit cards.
You will find an option “pay” to your credit cards.
Or wait for Bright to automatically make payments to your cards.
Add funds to your savings goal
Go to the “Assets” tab and click on any savings goal you’re interested in saving for.
Click on “Add Funds” to add money to your savings pocket.
Activate Bright Credit Builder by initiating the deposit
Go to the “Credit Score Tab”.
Click on “Credit Builder” and finish enrolment.
Initiate the deposit to start your Credit Builder account.
Get a Bright Balance transfer activated and disbursed
You can always track your rewards on the Bright app. Click on “check referral activity” to see all your referrals. Under each referral, if the status is “Referral complete” and it shows “You got $Reward”, then look for your reward in your Bright Stash/Credit Builder Savings/ Bright credit Account. It usually takes 3-4 business days. You can also monitor if your friends have met their eligibility criteria. If they're moving too slow, give them a nudge, so you get your reward in a timely way! Don't forget to confirm that you've met your eligibility requirements too.
Bright deposits your rewards in your Bright Stash account/Credit Builder Savings/ Bright credit Account. We’ll use it to pay your credit cards or put it in your savings pockets. Before we use it to pay your cards, you can always withdraw it to your checking account too.On the app’s Home screen, click on Stash to see your referral transactions. Or Go to Credit Builder card on the Home screen and see the “Credit Builder Savings” Or click on the Bright Account Card on the Home screen to see the transactions.

You will be awarded a maximum of 5 referral rewards per month. (This could change based on the program). The month when your friend meets their eligible requirements is the month that reward is attributed to you. If more than 5 friends meet their eligibility criteria in a month, the remaining will not be carried forward to the next month.
If you refer 6 friends this month, and only 3 meet their eligibility criteria this month, you’ll get 3 rewards.
If all 6 meet their criteria, then you’ll get a maximum of 5 rewards and the 6th reward will not be considered for the next month.
You need to be a paid user to be eligible for referral. That means you’ve finished the trial period and paid for your first membership. If you’ve already ended your trial period, please check you have a checking account linked to Bright with enough balance to cover the membership fee..

We help you track your referral rewards by showing you details of where your friends are in their referral journey. You’ll be able to track your friends when they use your referral link and enter their number to redeem rewards. You can keep tracking as they move and meet the eligibility criteria. It takes roughly 1-2 weeks usually for your friends to satisfy the conditions. If they’re going too slow, nudge them!Here’s an explanation of all steps in the Referral section:

Membership Pending Your friend needs to be on a paid membership after the end of the trial period (10 days, typically). Please ensure your friend links a valid checking account, so Bright is able to collect the membership fee.
Transaction PendingYour friend needs to transact at least $10 through the app. This could be by making payment to a credit card through Bright or adding money to their savings account. Learn more about this?
Reward ProcessingThis is shown when your friend's reward is in progress. You will receive your reward once their reward is processed and your friend progresses to “Referral Complete.”
Account DeletedIf your friend deletes the app before meeting their eligibility criteria, you won't receive a reward for that referral.
Referral CompleteThis means your friend has successfully met Referral eligibility criteria. You will see your reward status below this status.
Rewards PausedWe might decide to pause the distribution of rewards in the event of any updates/changes or suspicious or fraudulent activities. This will be temporary, and we’ll be back soon once the issue is resolved.
Referral TerminatedBright will terminate the referral if we see any suspicious or fraudulent activity. Please reach out with any questions via chat or email (support@brightmoney.co).Once your friend completes the referral, you’ll see the Referral Complete status. Below this, you’ll see one of the following to track your reward.
You got $reward
On completion of your friend’s referral, look for your reward in your Bright Stash account/Bright Stash account/ Credit builder Savings/ Bright Account. It usually takes 3-4 business days.
Reward Maximum reached
You’ll see this if you’ve done more than the maximum referrals per month. Don’t worry, try next month :)
Pending eligibility
This is shown if you have not met the eligibility criteria. Once you meet the criteria, you’ll see this change and you’ll get the rewards up to the maximum monthly limit.
Your Award EligibilityThis indicates if you’ve met the reward eligibility conditions. Your membership could be pending, or your required transaction could still be pending, too.
